THEOSOPHICAL ASTROLOGY
This section of our website is entitled Theosophical Astrology because in it, we have brought together in one place all of the resources found within our webpages on the subject of astrology, considered from a Theosophical perspective. You will find here not only essays on the Zodiac and its signs and the Zodiacal family of planets, but also a number of important and key essays on the philosophy of astrology, without which a deep study of the subject would be impossible.
As most students of Theosophy are aware, a complete and systematic explanation of the contours and details of the esoteric side of astrology – one of the ancient sciences of the Mysteries from time immemorial – was never set forth by either of the agents of the Lodge of Adepts in both the 19th and 20th centuries. Nor do we have any reliable and comprehensive record of the ancient Mystery teachings on astrology in historical documents, so nothing of those sorts of treatments can possibly be made public.
But what we do have is a small but important body of teachings on the subject cast throughout The Secret Doctrine and other writings of H. P. Blavatsky, some key articles from the writings of W. Q. Judge, and importantly, a series of brilliant essays written by Prof. Helen Valborg in the late 1900s on the Zodiac and its signs and the Zodiacal family in the journal HERMES, all of which were thoroughly edited and revised by Prof. Raghavan N. Iyer, the editor-in-chief of that journal.
The editors of Theosophy Trust have brought together in one place all of these critical essays on the subject of Theosophical Astrology so that students who have an interest in this ancient science may more easily undertake a thorough and comprehensive study of the subject.
